New Brand Office

Since we’re still in Virginia Street we can’t exactly boast it’s a brand new office but it has been refurbished to reflect our new brand. Scott unleashed his inner Lawrence Llewelyn and, as you’d expect from such an experienced and officious Production Manager, completed the project on time and within budget. Why not pop by and see it for yourself? You’ll even be greeted by our lovely Carrie, who’s just back from maternity leave.

An industry first: old media to sell new.

This week sees the launch of our latest TV ad for Abertay Uni. And, true to form, it has broken barriers. Rather than another old ad for another old student recruitment campaign, it’s aimed at selling the interactive Abertay Uni App. Innovative? You’d expect nothing less. View commercial

Breaking Barriers. Again.

Far more than a simple course listing, our Abertay Uni Course Finder App is interactive and fun. The perfect example of how we bring together innovation and creativity to maximise engagement. View project

Typography. On the radio?

Book of the week on Radio 4 is the fascinating ‘That’s My Type’ by Simon Garfield. It’s on every morning at quarter to ten, Monday to Friday or you can listen again here http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/typography.

Busy time of year. For our in-house animation team.

Yip. It’s that time again. When NHS24 run their campaign to remind Scots to plan ahead as GP surgeries will be closed for Christmas and New Year. All the animation was created in-house which made it very cost effective and easier to produce on a tight timescale.

Stop press. Stop printer. Stop photocopier. It’s European Week for Waste Reduction.

We’re pleased to announce (in a paperless way, of course) the launch of our campaign for European Week for Waste Reduction. We won the pitch back in September and our work will run across Scotland, encouraging Scots to cut down on the amount of waste they produce. Practicing what we preach, our in-house initiatives include having a package-less lunch week, unplugging our printers and commuting by public transport, or in Calum’s case, bike. Steven G’s even managed to combine two public spirited initiatives by stopping using disposable razors and growing... Read The Rest →

The ad that lives on and on and on.

Awards are nice. But it’s a true accolade when your work is rated by Joe Public. It’s them, not a jury, the work is aimed at after all. So we were pretty chuffed to discover this blast from the past on The Poke’s 48 Inspirational Ideas. Great ads, like great rock, never die.

Scotland’s Best strategy?

Time to dust off your tux, David. Our campaign for Belhaven Best has just been shortlisted for Best Marketing Strategy in the Scottish Business Awards. We used their gift of a name to position the ale as the nation’s favourite; Scotland’s Best. It doubled brand awareness and helped Belhaven Best become Scotland’s favourite ale with a 35% volume share of the on-trade draught ale market.

All cloak and dagger.

A few months ago, Simon and Andy put their lives on the line (anything for a good ad) to photograph a Rangers’ blue bike outside the notoriously Celtic Bar 67, and a Celtic green one parked against the infamously Rangers’ The Louden Tavern. Their only hope of getting out alive was doing the shoot so early in the morning no-one would be around to see them. We’re happy to report that their bravery did not go unnoticed and their undercover work for Adrenalin Bikes picked up a dagger at the... Read The Rest →

No photography budget? Perfect.

It’s in our nature to turn a negative into a positive. So when we had to create posters for blood on a limited budget we created some good, old fashioned long copy ads. Ideal, since they were stationed at bus stops and inside train carriages. Ali had something to write, commuters had something to read and the client got an award winning campaign that picked up Best Copywriting at the Scottish Ad Awards.
