How to get people to read without books
Scottish Book Week should be about encouraging those who aren’t habitual readers to pick up a book. Otherwise we would just be preaching to the converted. So we didn’t sell books and reading. We sold escapism and adventure.
While it may have won Best TV Ad in the Low Budget category, it certainly doesn’t look it. We spend the money where people notice it, and save it where they don’t.
